It's been a while since I post again, after the Holidays I accepted the position as GSCCC Newsleter Editor and have been helping out with the CCACS Photo Studio, both positions as volunteer. This year so far is happening as planned and got events and seminars going on all year.
We started January with a Walk by the Beach along with other Corpus Christi Camera Club members, Steven Pituch and Alfred Acosta. Issam also came with us. We went to the South Padre Island jetty and then down to Port Aransas Nature Preserve to catch the sunset.
In February, I stayed at home every Saturday to complete the second part of the Photoshop Basic Webinar with The Art of Retouching Studio. Trying to refine my post-processing techniques.
March was rather interesting, went to the Sinton Car Show, then to Charleston, SC for a weekend workshop with Jennifer King. Check out this video She made of us trying to capture the mystical beauty of that city and its amazing landscapes.
April ended with the Gulf States Camera Club Council 2014 Convention, which was a super event, not only because all the Seminars and lectures, or the incredible deals to buy books and gear thanks to the Sponsors, or even the meeting such wonderful alike minds and hearts that share the calling to be the best photographers we can be and present our vision of Nature, Photojournalism, Street Photography or just be super creative in Color or Black and White. I think the event was rather enhanced by the venue and the organizing Club.
We met at Baton Rouge and I can't wait to go back and visit all the places I missed because there were so many choices for Sunset and Sunrises and in between. I couldn't be everywhere all the time. So, I made my choices and went to the Bluebonnet swamps, then to a night walk at LSU where we met Mike the Tiger and finally, went to meet gorgeous privately owned and bred Arabian horses. Attended several seminars with inspiring Photographers like Dave FitzSimmons, David Akoubian, Eleanor Kerr and Andrew Boyd. All with one message in common, follow your vision. They encouraged us to find a project and make a collection of related photos, whether is just textures and colors or a particular subject. Whatever it is to keep on shooting and just get better.
May started with a Air and Car show at the Flight Museum of Kingsbury. God's most magnificent creation is our human minds and their ability to create and invent. It has always amazed me what we can do. Technology and progress for the better of humanity is to be studied, learned and improved !
I have much to process and a brand new Newsletter Special Edition to prepare for the GSCCC members, so, I better get to it. I'll be reorganizing the galleries into collections and adding lots more.
May the Forth be with you !
And the Peace of our Lord surrounds you.
