I have been absent from photography for months now. Between work and other projects, I had to put my hobby to the side.
With some exceptions, we went to Austin for Independence Day and the RTX Convention, that was a blast, definitely planning to go back next year. Then I was able to complete the Basic Photoshop Class (Part 1) from #The Art of Retouching --> http://www.theartofretouching.com/blog/photoshop-basic-class. Awesome class by the way, it's a webinar and I have lost my fear to use Photoshop. Now, I just need time to practice. I am pending to schedule the second part and who knows maybe even the Medium and Advance levels.
I also attended #Scott Kelby's Shoot Like a Pro Live Seminar at San Antonio, TX. It was an awesome day of sharing all kind of insightful information directly from the man himself. The best part was his advice: Keep on practicing.
Which has been a bit complicated to do. I went to San Antonio and back, then to Los Angeles and back and to Port Arthur through Houston and back and no pictures, not one.
It felt like I was getting photographer's withdrawal symptoms. Then, something happens, and I get my camera out. The whole studio kit to photograph my Birthday's Loot: The whole Disney gang!
Then a month of rain and me just watching it from inside my home. Did I mention we moved in this period? I got a backyard now. And get hummingbirds, geckos and bunnies to visit us. So, my next goal is to shoot them! I mean, to take their photo. I got the bunny first, through the kitchen window.
And today, I walked with group of Photography's enthusiasts here at Corpus Christi. We all responded the call to Scott Kelby's Worldwide PhotoWalk. https://plus.google.com/112937644482715977442. In less than two hours I had couple dozens photos of our beautiful city and a couple new friends. I left with a renewed sense and love to the craft. Sharing that feeling with everyone there.
I'm back to why I started in the first place. Back to remember I'm one level short of my NYIP Diploma! Back to the list of photos pending to be processed and printed to fill all the blank frames that will cover up the walls in our new home. Back to the list of places I want to visit and shoot and the #Amazon's wish list of gear waiting for a few extra dollars to place the order. Back to planning shoots of God's beautiful creation and capture His love to us in an image, or in as many it takes.
I'm still here.
