Moving forward or standing still?
Happy New Year!!
Wow, I've been absent from this blog for a while. But I'm definitely not standing still.
October was such a great month for us. Started with Scott Kelby's Photo Walk here at Corpus Christi Bay area where I made a new friend, Jill, and since we've been "pen-gals" and went to the Gardens together and then we attended the Art Center's Photo Sense classes. We took the first one in November; the Instructor is a great photographer, @Dave Olds. The second one was on December, where we practiced panning and handling HDR and other cool special effects for portraits.
Then I was invited to join @Steve Pituch on a photo shoot for stray puppies awaiting adoption. It was quite a humbling experience, the @For the love of Strays group members are awesome people and since they've got many of these puppies adopted. I even might get a call back in January to continue this task.
November was topped with a driving trip along the Highway 40 from Amarillo to Laughlin NV. Although our trip was shorten due to inclement whether we still stop by and got wonderful shots at the Cadillac ranch at Amarillo and the meteorite crater in NV. Plus family pics on Thanksgiving night.
Found many other places to visit on @Google maps that call for another longer trip probably in the spring or summer time.
I do so love Christmas decorations and found them everywhere this past month. My favorite was a gingerbread Christmas Villa located in a local Hotel, wonderfully crafted.
December was also topped with a surprise opportunity to visit my family in Mexico. Short trip for Christmas Eve and Christmas day only but lots of hugs, chocolates and food, yeah, the food !
I have been very slow on processing my photos... So, I owe you those. Santa left a new monitor, I started on processing as soon as I hook up my new computer set up. I'm starting the year with new gear! and a new bag, hehe. I know, I fell rather blessed.
Got my Kelly Moore in November, for times when I have to carry my laptop. My Red cheeky lime arrived shortly after, for most of my walkabouts. It's very practical and great looking and fits almost everything. And now I'm waiting the arrival of a new Jill-E small bag which will be my everyday small purse for this new Year.
I'm also getting a new tripod to go lower and closer than any macro-photographer has gone before... Got to make time to practice HDR and panorama shots using my new gizmos. Possibly opportunity San Antonio the 17th.
In the portrait field, I got a list of Clients waiting, sorry about that. I'll shoot you soon. Starting with my husband, I got his portrait done last year on our anniversary. Well, it's time for a new photo.
I'm very thankful of how many good friends I have met in the past few months. Can't wait to see what this year has waiting for us.
Your friendly neighbor and photographer,
