Let's go clubbing
My entire life I have been an observer by the side of the road, by myself. Today I joined my very first club just for fun. The Corpus Christi Camera Club welcomed me as a new member and it was a completely new experience.
These are experienced photographers that have had made their craft an art and meet monthly to share and judge among each others. They bring up speakers and new contests and calls for publishing and even for displays in museums and art galleries.
Today, the speaker shared the work of one of her professors, Mr. Lorran Meares. Mr. Meares is famous for portraying sacred places using experimental techniques like colored lighting and long exposures. You can find his work here: http://220.127.116.11/~enlighto/home/
I was definitely impressed by the club members' work. Next month I will qualify to submit my images for judging. I was also impressed that I understood their vocabulary and their topic. Thanks NYIP for giving me the photo language.
In the way back, I saw this beautiful sunset and I have to stop by the side of Leopard St.
All and all, a beautiful day, God Bless you.
